Katrin Sliwinska Flaumenhaft – psychologist, psychotherapist

• CBT psychotherapy
• Adults and Adolescents therapy

”I am a clinical psychologist, trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which combines effective help with the hope for real change. This approach is particularly close to my heart because it allows us to understand the mechanisms behind our thoughts and emotions, while also offering concrete tools to implement positive changes in life. As a result, we can notice quick progress, leading to lasting, positive effects.
I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Sydney, Australia, where I had the opportunity to work with clients from various countries. This international experience has allowed me to better understand the diversity of cultural perspectives, enabling me to tailor therapy to the individual needs of people from different backgrounds. This valuable insight into the challenges faced by my international patients has further helped me develop my skills in empathy and therapeutic flexibility.”

    My approach to psychotherapy

In my work, the key is helping people build authentic self-awareness. We all come from different places—families, cultures, histories. Each of us has our own values, dreams, and experiences that shape our lives. My role is to accompany individuals on this journey and support them through the transitions between life stages.
Every phase of our life, regardless of the challenges, should have deep meaning for us. Only then can we move from one stage to another with greater awareness, lightness, and in harmony with ourselves.
When we begin to understand ourselves, it becomes easier to understand the world around us. This opens up space for a fuller, calmer, and more conscious life—one that is our own choice.
I help my clients discover which beliefs, values, and decisions truly belong to them, and which have been imposed from the outside. It is a process of reclaiming authenticity and a sense of agency.
The goal of my work is to accompany people on the path to a life that not only doesn’t overwhelm them but gives them the sense that they are themselves—present, free, and fulfilled, regardless of the stage they are at.

    The therapy I offer

I work in English and Polish with both adults and adolescents from 15 years of age.
I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is a goal-oriented and time-limited approach.
When needed, I also offer long-term therapy, using various therapeutic methods and adapting the approach to the individual needs of each person. Sometimes, change requires deeper work on ingrained emotions, beliefs, or experiences that continue to impact our lives. This type of support is particularly important when dealing with difficult aspects of the past.
